With a forecast high temperature of 12 degrees C today (54F) and a low of 11 (are they kidding?) I decided to build a fire early in the day so that we got the benefit of the warmnth throughout. I discovered last time that even after the fire had gone out, the stove itself was hot to touch more than four hours afterwards so it doesn’t seem sensible to get it going in the early evening and leave the best of the heat for when I’m in bed.
